Black lines show in-migration and red lines show out-migration. Once you select a county you can hover your cursor over another county to show migration streams between those two locations and the average per capita income of those who migrated. Students can draw their own conclusions and theorize about causes. This might fit nicely as an extension activity after students create the choropleth maps of the U.S.

Where Americans are Moving (Forbes interactive map)
